Meaning Behind the Name
Rhea is the Titan of fertility and motherhood.
In Greek mythology, Rhea is the wife of Kronos. They had six children together; Hestia, Hades, Demeter, Poseidon, Hera and Zeus. Kronos was afraid that he would one day be overthrown by his children and decided to swallow each of them when they were born. They did not die, but remained trapped in his body. Rhea finally grew tired of losing her children in this way and managed to get Kronos to take a wrapped rock instead of her youngest baby, Zeus.
When Zeus grew up, he forced his father to disgorge his siblings and eventually overthrew him.
