Meaning Behind the Name

Ida and her sister Adrasteia were nymphs of Mount Ida, the highest mountain in Crete.  During Zeus's infancy, sisters Ida and Adrasteia, were entrusted to care for him.  They hid him away in a secluded cave until he grew.  As a reward for their service, Zeus placed the sisters among the stars as the constellations, Ursa Major and Ursa Minor.
