Meaning Behind the Name

Freya is the goddess of love and fertility in Norse mythology.  She is also associated with sex, lust, beauty, gold, war and death.  She is said to be a sorceress who could fly in a falcon skin when she is not being pulled around in her cat-drawn chariot.
